Welcome to The Wandering Pro, our second podcast on the SK Nexus platform. And basically, since I resumed the TechMateFun podcast and my other side ventures are going on, I often get feedback, whoever listens to my podcast says that whatever it is, it's good, content is coming, there is already a lot of content shortage in Pakistan. And especially your tech, business, career, the content that is available online, It doesn't take into consideration Pakistan's circumstances and situations. For example, you are a person who wants a job. You will google how to get a job. There will be Facebook, Meta, Google advice which is not applicable to you at all. And I realized this problem about a year or two ago. When I personally transitioned from job role to freelancing, and then from freelancing I transitioned to my own setup. So I saw that the business and career and what they call it, upskilling resources, which are often not relevant for Pakistan or the low income regions in the area. So I started a side venture called The Wandering Pro. And basically what it was, it was a blog on which I would write mindset unlock content that I want to give you a different perspective because Alhamdulillah, I progressed in my career in a decent way. And hopefully those people I can guide them to a better future, a more fulfilling career while based in Pakistan. So I had been writing that blog for a year. There are a lot of posts on it. You can go and read it on scnexus.com slash the wandering pro. And then we also launched a Discord server. So those who were very evangelists, who needed one-on-one help, we made a gated process so that they can come into it and talk to me. And we made a small group. And now finally, I think it's time for the next evolution of that venture that we are going to launch a podcast. Basically, SK Nexus is my passion project and there will be two podcasts in it. Tech Meet Fun, which will be a podcast on your tech focus, tech topics as it is. And then this second podcast, The Wandering Pro, this will be more focused towards business and career upscaling. Okay. What you can expect is that what I am writing in my blogs, what I am writing on my social media posts, what you call closed. I keep sharing in circles, I keep helping freelancers a lot. All that content in an episodic format, one concept at a time, I will bring here in the audio. So that all sounds well and good, but you're like, okay, who are you? So I am, I tell a little about myself. My name is Saqib, I didn't know until now. And I've been working in the tech industry for the last five to six years. I started my own business. Typically, your standard role, the role of tech support, I took that role. And through and through, then what happened? I took interest in product and I became like a product manager. Transitioned a lot of roles, it's a long story. I'll link a couple of articles below if you want to read it in depth. And now basically I am divided between two efforts. So it's my personal work. I do direct contracting with US clients for product management support. Okay. It's my website, you can go there and see. But in order to reach there, I had to go through the whole transition that first I went to a good job, then I went to freelancing because there was not much growth in my job, there were no opportunities available for my role. Then I started from zero in freelancing. Okay. I did a $100 gig, which starts with everyone and I made progress in that. And you know, I did that for a couple of years. And now like I'm in the process of setting my own business up. Right. So all that is going on the side, it is my job, it is my place. But at the side... SK Nexus is on, as you know, I have been starting from the last 4-5 years. I wrote blogs before making tech content. Then I made a TechMateFun podcast and then made a blog of The Wandering Pro. And now we are making a podcast of The Wandering Pro. So that gives you an overview of everything I've done in the past five to six years. Again, if you want to learn more, I'll put some links in the description, which you can go and see. But that all being said, here's what to expect. As I said, I want this podcast to be an accessible means for people who are looking to upscale their career and business, right? So, how to make it accessible? It's in Urdu. I don't care about SEO. Obviously, I will speak a little English because my work is in English, but basically easy to digest, easy to understand, in simple words, career and business advice and on top of that, my experience is based here in Pakistan. I am sitting in Pakistan, I am not sitting anywhere outside. I have not employed any hacks. Everything I have done so far is based in Pakistan. So this will be experience based advice that will expose you to new realities which you may not know about before. Okay. So this is one goal. And my second goal is that as I said, the Wondering Pro is a big venture, big for me, at least for one person, in which I work on different aspects. So there is the blog already. Then I am making resources for freelancers and small software agencies or those who are transitioning from freelancing to business. They are also available. You can also go and see the website. And then as I mentioned, we have a small discord group, which is gated. People who are really interested, they can join again, it's called link description where you can see the application and all that for that. At the end of the day, I want to leave you with this. And this is an accept written from the Wandering Pro's website. And yes, it's in English because I don't know how to type Urdu. Let me leave you with this. Career content and advice often doesn't translate to success simply because Most of it is irrelevant to your location, your situation, or your capabilities. Talent is distributed evenly, but opportunity is definitely not. And being from Pakistan, I learned that the hard way. People are less worried about getting hired at Meta or Google, and more worried about earning a comfortable living wage. People are less worried about becoming the next billionaire and more worried about meeting the bare minimum. So join me as a wanderer in my effort to enlighten you with my experiences in your career and your business. And always remember, not all who wander are lost, not all that glitters is gold.
